Welcome to the universe of Floratypes. If you look closely, you will see this isn’t an ordinary flower…

Floratypes are made using real flowers
Every floratype is meticulously made from petals and parts of different existing flowers. I pull apart the petals, the heart, the pistils and the stamens from the stem. All the individual bits are then assembled and glued together to create a new species: Floratypes. I only use real flowers to create my floratypes and even leave the perfect imperfections on the petals when editing the picture to stay true to nature. The floratypes are captured in full bloom: the moment of creation.

Layer upon layerof softness

The story behind the floratypes
Personally, Floratypes invite this childlike excitement I get when thinking of the possibility of discovering a new colour. We are all acquainted with the entire colour spectrum, now imagine discovering a new colour that didn’t exist before. Not blue, not pink, not purple, orange, red or brown. But a colour that simply just doesn’t exist! Aaah, the amount of wonder and excitement I feel when thinking of that possibility. Although I probably haven’t seen every flower out there, it feels a bit like discovering the undiscovered. The exquisite beauty of flowers never ceases to amaze me. It is a soft world, a beautiful world, a strong world, a mystical, magical and mysterious world. There is so much wisdom to extract. I discover new species still to this day and I marvel at the fact that I can add to that and invent even more species that didn’t exist before I created them.
