Borgo Castello Panicaglia

Medieval Borgo Panicaglia, tucked away in the Umbrian hills, houses a castello from 1266, a small chapel and 2 outbuildings. Essential to us was to embrace and celebrate the historical location and the gorgeous surrounding nature, connecting inside spaces seamlessly with the outside. The restaurant, terraces and gardens were designed to be flexible. We created larger communal spaces for families as well as small cozy corners for couples seeking a calm moment together. Informal dining with friends and family on long tables in the snug restaurant, or sunset fine dining for two in the olive orchard overlooking the valley; exploring all the possibilities the buildings and the grounds have to offer.

Layers

Thick limestone walls, terracotta tile flooring and heavy wooden beams breathing 7 centuries of history were a richness she left untouched. We attentively added layers of handpicked furniture, vintage accessories and contemporary art that draw from both rustic local tradition and Italian sophistication. Luxury fabrics and natural materials make the calm atmosphere a tactile experience. A refined blend of vintage and modern pieces, all to match the splendour of the building.

La Dolce Vita

Life in the country of good food and beautiful views.
